A golf tour is the ideal way to experience multiple courses on the same trip. Staying in a central location, usually a bustling city or town, a tour allows your group to take in the area’s best courses, whilst still allowing you to base yourselves in the middle of the action.

Our sales experts can help you to build the perfect itinerary to suit your group’s needs, but why not get started by checking out some of our favourite and best golf tour destinations below.

Vilamoura

Vilamoura has long been the most-popular golf tour in our portfolio. A base around the busy harbour at one of the many excellent hotels allows you to take in the best of the Algarve’s nightlife with ease, with many of the most well-known courses in Portugal right on your doorstep. Due to the golf-centric nature of the region, many hotels have free shuttle buses to take you to the first tee, meaning there’s no need for a car – with several packages also including airport transfers within the price too!

Whether you want to indulge in five-star luxury at the Tivoli Marina or the Domes Lakes hotel, or take advantage of one of the excellent Dom Pedro collection of hotels (Vilamoura, Marina, Portobello), you won’t be short of options.

Domes Lake Algarve

In terms of the golf itself, you’ve got a myriad of courses to choose from. The Dom Pedro Golf Collection includes the Old, Millenium, Pinhal, Laguna and Victoria (the latter annually hosts the DP World Tour), whilst other popular choices can be found at Quinta Do Lago (North, South, Laranjal) as well as at Vale do Lobo and San Lorenzo. Put simply, whatever you want from a golf holiday in the sun, there’s an option for you in Vilamoura!

Dom Pedro Victoria

Le Touquet

If you’re looking to travel around a little more on your golf break, there’s a huge advantage to having your own car. The best place to do this abroad is by far and away Le Touquet in Northern France. The region’s proximity to the south of England means that groups can be on-site at their destination in a matter of hours, leaving plenty of scope for squeezing in an extra round on your day of arrival or departure.

Le Touquet Golf Resort

For the best possible value, check out our self-drive packages with the Eurotunnel crossing included, paired with hotel stays at the likes of, Le Westminster Barrière Le Touquet, Hotel Red Fox, and Le Caddy Hotel.

There’s a choice of golf in the area too, with many of our guests taking in both courses at Golf d’Hardelot, as well as the two excellent layouts at Golf du Touquet. Whichever courses and hotels you choose though, make sure to build in time to head down to the famous Le Globe Trotter pub in the middle of town!

Golf d'Hardelot

Bournemouth

Our most popular destination of a UK-based golf tour continues to be Bournemouth. The town’s vibrant beachfront and exciting nightlife makes it ideal for off-course entertainment, with a wide range of excellent courses and hotels all within easy reach. This also makes Bournemouth a great choice for a stag do golf trip!

Broadstone, Ferndown and Parkstone welcome many of our visitors, with the unique Isle of Purbeck also a must-visit, thanks to its unique layout and stunning views across the coast. The nature of breaks to Bournemouth means that many of the group are likely to be arriving by car, and so adding in a stop at the likes of Remedy Oak is tempting plan.

Broadstone Golf Club

As you’d expect, the town centre is not short of hotel options, with The Cumberland, the Hampton by Hilton Bournemouth, The Suncliff Hotel, and the Holiday Inn Bournemouth, just a selection of our favourites.

Marbella

Looking for a break that offers as much excitement off the course as it does on it? A trip to Marbella is a fantastic way to maximise your time away, with the hustle and bustle of this tourist-friendly town situated just a short distance from some of Spain’s best courses. The likes of Melia Marbella Banus, Occidental Puerto Banus, Barcello Marbella, and Iberostar Marbella Coral Beach are all excellent choices, generally operating on a Bed & Breakfast basis – ideal for finding a local restaurant in the evenings.

There are 27-holes of excellent golf at the nearby resort of Westin La Quinta, although standalone options are in abundance too, with Real Club Valerrama and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande just a short car ride away. There are also great courses at Cabopino Golf Club, Marbella Golf & Country Club, Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club, and Santa Clara Golf – with our sales experts able to build the ideal trip to suit the needs of your group.

Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club

Marrakech

Add some culture to your next golf holiday with a visit to the exciting Moroccan city of Marrakech. With some of the finest hotels on the planet, as well as architectural wonders and traditions that date back centuries, Marrakech is a truly special place. The snow-capped Atlas Mountains frames the backdrop, and provide a stunning contrast against the greenness of the courses here. Some of our favourites include; Assoufid Golf Course, Samanah Golf Course, Marrakech Royal Golf Club, The Montgomerie Marakech, and Noria Golf Club.

The Montgomerie Marrakech

In terms of hotels, you’re absolutely spoilt for choice. Choose from five-star gems such as the Movenpick Hotel Monseur Eddehbi, Fairmont Royal Palm, or the Kenzi Rose Garden – with all allowing for easy exploration of this magnificent city. Make sure to build in plenty of time to take in the famous souks within the city; covered markets selling everything imaginable (and also home to many of the city’s famous snake-charmers!).

Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech

St Andrews

Whilst we believe that every tour on this list boasts some world-class golfing options, St Andrews likely tops the lot. A stay in the historic town is golfing paradise, with plenty of the Links Trusts’ courses within easy walking distance from your accommodation. Helpfully, the town’s many bars and restaurants are also grouped closely together too, meaning everything you can need from a break in the town can be found on foot.

You’ve simply got to experience The Old Course at least once in your golfing life, following in the footsteps of the greats. However, with The New, The Castle, and The Jubilee all excellent tests of golf, there’s plenty of other great golf to be enjoyed.

Old Course at St Andrews Links

Those with their own car may also want to venture out to the likes of Kinsbarns, Carnoustie, or Dumbarnie Golf Links, which are all easy to get to from a base at The Old Course Hotel, Hotel du Vin, Adgowan Hotel or The Rusacks.

Bigger groups may want to consider a stay at the Fairmont St Andrews. With two excellent courses on-site, and shuttle buses into the town, it’s a perfect mix of a resort break and golf tour!

Dumbarnie Links

Dubai

Overflowing in opulence, Dubai has become a much-visited destinations for our customers, as they seek out the incredible weather, courses, shopping and cuisine on offer here. The courses are plentiful, including; The Els Club, Jumirah Golf Estates, Emirates Golf Club, Dubai Creek, and The Address Montgomerie. There’s truly not a lot to separate these in quality, so speak to our sales experts to see which may tie in best with your chosen itinerary.

The hotels here are equally exquisite, with a mix of four and five-star options helping to suit every budget. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime break, then why not treat yourself to a stay at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort. This five-star stop is just a short walk from the marina and located close to many of the city’s best courses too. Conversely, those looking for maximum value should check out the excellent JA Ocean View – a fabulous four-star offering, with a great central location, and everything you need to make your time away truly memorable.

Emirates Golf Club

Palma

Palma is perhaps one of the most underrated cities in Europe, with an incredible mix of history, modern gastronomy, and year-round warmth. As a result, Majorca’s capital has grown into one of our most popular up-and-coming golfing destinations.

The city already has brilliant off course amenities, and a choice of excellent hotels, including; Hotel Palma Bellver by Melia, Melia Palma Marina, Castillo Hotel Son Vida, and Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel. Fortunately, over recent years, the golf offering has been developed to compliment the quality of the accommodation.

Some of our favourite courses here include T Golf Palma, Golf Son Gual Mallorca, and Club de Golf Santa Ponsa. However, the island is also home to 63-holes and all the golfing facilities imaginable at Arabella Golf Majorca. What’s more, the venue is just five-minutes from the town centre, allowing for the perfect golf tour – a base in the city, and excellent golf nearby!

Club de Golf Santa Ponsa

Swansea

Last but by no means least is the seaside delight, Swansea. The city and surrounding area is home to some of Wales’ best courses, such as, Royal Porthcawl, Pennard, Ashburnham and Machynys Peninsula Golf & Country Club. However, it’s the mix of these stunning coastal layouts and the vibrant city centre that makes Swansea the ideal destination for a golf tour.

Pennard Golf Club

Our two most popular hotels here are the aptly-named Dragon Hotel, and the Mercure Swansea. Both allow for easy exploration of the city (and prevent a long walk back at the end of an evening!), whilst also being perfectly-located for exploring the golf. Head over in late Spring to see the courses as they begin to come into season, with few places as enjoyable for a UK golf getaway.
