Golf courses in Dubai – original desert classics!

The European Tour makes regular stops in Dubai both at the start and end of the season, a product of both the incredible weather and variety of quality courses in the area.

Each January, the Emirates Golf Club plays host to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Always attracting a world-class field, past winners include Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Sergio Garcia.

The Majlis Course opened in 1988 and was nicknamed “The Desert Miracle”, becoming Dubai’s first all-grass championship course. It continues to be one of the shining lights of the European Tour schedule, with a stellar layout, perfect conditioning, and incredible views of the ever-developing Dubai skyline.

The season traditionally comes to a close with the climax of the ‘Race to Dubai’. The final event is held annually at Jumeirah Golf Estates with the Earth Course a spectacular backdrop for this prestigious event. The course itself was designed by Greg Norman and stretches out to over 7,700 yards from the championship tees – certainly not a challenge for the faint-hearted!

The setup of golf in Dubai lends itself perfectly to playing multiple championship venues on your break. Away from the European Tour stops, there are fabulous courses to be found at The Els Club and Dubai Creek Golf Club, with The Montgomerie Golf Club ever-increasing in popularity amongst our customers.

For something a little different from the perfectly sculpted nature of the other golf courses in Dubai, check out the stunning Arabian Ranches. The course features no water hazards or defined bunkers, instead, it weaves in and out of the desert landscape giving it one of the most natural feels of any course in the area.
