Getting there

Take a 7-hour flight to either Dubai or Abu Dhabi with British Airways or Emirates. On arrival in Dubai, the tourist hub of downtown Dubai is a mere 10 minutes away, while the Marina is a 30-minute drive. For Ras Al Khaimah, transfers take around 45 minutes. On arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, you will be left with a short 10-minute transfer to Abu Dhabi centre.

When to go

Expect a subtropical climate, typical of any desert destination. Average temperatures range from 19.5 degrees in January to a scorching 36.5 degrees in August, and as a result, the best time to travel is between November and April – perfect for a winter sun/early spring getaway.

Good to know

With such an incredible array of golf courses, including European Tour host’s Abu Dhabi GC and Jumeirah Golf Estates, it’s easy for golfers to forget about the many other activities that are available across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. Each Emirate offers its own unique experience and your trip can be tailored to suit your lifestyle.

OUR TOP TIPS: To take advantage of the very best deals and tee-times, make sure you book at least three months in advance. The UAE is a fantastic destination, but we do recommend to be aware of the do’s and don’ts before going, as things such as swearing in public, for example, are against the law.

Dubai is perhaps the first place that springs to mind when thinking of a holiday to the UAE. The glitz and the glam of the city have become synonymous with this destination, with an abundance of 5* resorts, luxury service, immaculate beaches and extravagant shopping malls to indulge in.

Some of the most ornate attractions include the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper, Palm Jumeirah, an iconic manmade island in the shape of a palm, and Dubai Marina which provides beautiful views of Dubai’s cityscape. So, whether you’re travelling with a group, in a couple, or with the family, Dubai will not disappoint!

Abu Dhabi is considered to offer a much more traditional and authentic Middle Eastern experience. You’ll still find modern architecture and ostentatious attractions throughout, just with more history and culture to explore than that of Dubai. Some of the top attractions include the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the new Louvre Abu Dhabi, perfect for art fanatics, and the Emirates Palace.

No visit is complete without a visit to Yas Island. With so many attractions - Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros.World Theme Park there is plenty to do on a day trip to the island. Or relax instead at the marina or beach for a blissful day out. The city also has a fantastic night scene, with a great variety of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Although they are the two lesser-known Emirates, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman are two fast-emerging up-and-comers, which also have plenty to brag about. Ras Al Khaimah, the most northerly Emirate, provides a platform for the more active holiday goer. With the spectacular Ru’us Al Jibal mountain range, the highest peak in the UAE, visitors can go hiking and mountain biking. Not to mention the opportunity to go on Jebel Jais Flight, the longest zip line in the world.

Ajman is located just an hour north of Dubai and provides an alternative type of holiday to the rest, with a modern, laid-back coastal city centre. The beautiful beaches are perfect for relaxing and enjoying a host of watersports and fishing excursions. Whilst the area of Al Zorah, in the northern region of Ajman, offers a nature reserve and a world-class Jack Nicklaus golf course.

With the Liwa Oasis right on your doorstep, indulging in a trip to the desert is often at the top of everyone’s list. Desert experiences include a 4X4 Dune Safari, camel riding and sandboarding, all of which can be often be tied into a dinner and camping experience.
