Planning your trip

Best time to visit & value months

While the Canary Islands offer comfortable playing conditions all year round, the best value months tend to be May and September, when the weather is warm, but the crowd levels are lower.

Travel tips

  • Book early for peak winter months (November–February) if you want the most choice of tee-times and courses.
  • Opt for morning tee-times in summer months to avoid stronger sun/higher winds, especially on coastal holes.
  • Consider hiring a car for flexibility if staying on islands with multiple courses (especially Tenerife and Gran Canaria).
  • Ask about buggy/trolley deals – many resorts include these in their packages.

Off the course The Canaries deliver far more than golf:

  • Volcanic landscapes, subtle colour palettes and nature reserves make for exceptional sightseeing and relaxation.

  • Golden beaches, sea-kayaking, wind-surfing or simply a sunset walk make the perfect companion to your golf stay.

  • Rich local culture and cuisine: traditional Canarian dishes, local festivals, market towns away from the resort bubble.

  • For non-golfing companions: spa time, shopping, or simply relaxing by your resort pool are excellent options.
