The Open returns to the iconic Old Course at St Andrews from 11th-18th July 2027, bringing golf's oldest championship back to the Home of Golf. As the 155th Open Championship, it promises an unforgettable week of world-class golf, incredible atmosphere and the chance to watch the game's greatest players compete on one of the most famous courses in the world. St Andrews will host The Open for the 31st time, continuing a rich history that dates all the way back to 1873.

Experience golf's oldest major
The Open has been home to over 150 years of drama, suspense and excitement as the world's best golfers go head-to-head in the oldest and most iconic championship.
Starting in 1860, at the prestigious Prestwick golf course, eight professional golfers competed against one another to determine who would succeed the Scottish Legend Allan Robertson and be crowned as the Champion Golfer.
The winner was awarded the Challenge Belt, which was worth £25 at the time. It wasn't until 1873 that the Claret Jug was presented for the first time. The original Claret Jug is now on permanent display in the clubhouse at The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.
