Despite Kiawah Island Golf Resort receiving most of the praise in the area, some of the other Charleston golf courses are equally as good and provide the makings for an incredible golf vacation.

The Arnold Palmer-designed course at RiverTowne Country Club is a real treat, as is The Links at Stono Ferry which was voted South Carolina Golf Course of the Year in 2011. The opportunity to play the infamous Ocean Course at Kiawah island Golf Resort is not one to be missed. The layout played host to the 1991 Ryder Cup and the 2012 PGA Championship and will test every part of your game.

Charleston National Golf Club is another great layout that weaves through the marshes and is surrounded by a range of natural beauty. This vacation gives you the chance to experience an array of top-quality courses within a truly beautiful setting.

Away from the Ocean Course, Kiawah Island Golf Resort is also home to courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Fazio, adding enviable variety to any trip to the resort.

Other Charleston golf courses include the Harbor Course and Links Course at Wild Dunes Resort, located on the island getaway of Isle of Palms. Both courses were designed by Tom Fazio and offer two different and complementing layouts. The Harbor Course is a links style that plays throughout the resort and along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Links Course is a more traditional layout for South Carolina with the finishing three holes playing along the Atlantic Ocean.
