PGA Riviera Maya Golf Club boasts an excellent 18-hole championship course, as well as an executive 9-hole par-3 course. The stunning Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed course spans over an area of more than 200 acres of jungle, cenotes and lakes. The club is situated in the Riviera Maya area, about 15 miles north of Tulum, currently one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region.

Robert Trent Jones Jr quite literally carved the 7272-yard (from the back tees), par-72, 18-hole championship course at Riviera Maya out of the dense Mayan jungle and limestone quarry. Freshwater caves, cenotes and tropical forests feature throughout. Plus, elevation changes not typical in this part of the world really add to the experience.
The front-nine is tight off the tee and the back-nine is where you find most of the water hazards, so straight hitting is required. The finish is a challenge, starting with the par-5 16th that doglegs around a stone-lined water hazard and the 18th, a 436-yard uphill par-4 that plays past several rock formations into the final green.
With five teeing options, all visitors can choose a course length that suits their game. The 9-hole par 3 executive course at Riviera Maya is one of the best you’ll find and is a great place to warm up before tackling the championship course.
Signature Holes
There are plenty to choose from at PGA Riviera Maya Golf Club, however, the 15th is often regarded as the most memorable. A long par-3 from an elevated tee some 60 feet above the green and played all the way across a lake to a huge green. It’s one of the best sights you’ll see as you stand on the tee-box.
The 17th also stands out as a particular highlight, a par-3 with a small, sloping green, protected by two hazardous bunkers. The vast lake to the right ensures there is no margin for error.
