Torrance Course

at Fairmont St Andrews

The Torrance Course at the Fairmont St Andrews is a Denis Griffiths and Sam Torrance design built in 2001. Ranked amongst Scotland’s top 60 courses and used for Open Championship Qualifying, the Torrance is an outstanding clifftop layout with beautiful views of St Andrews Bay and the Auld Grey Toon.

Measuring over 7200 yards off the tips and constructed with many principles of links golf in mind, it is a great challenge that fits very comfortably amongst more famous names. Great coastal views coupled with fast running greens, strategically placed bunkers, elevation changes and wispy rough make this a fun and exciting course to play.

Signature hole

The 220-yard par-3 17th hole is a beauty, where the green is protected by a dry-stone wall and deep bunkers.

Did You Know?

Sam Torrance was one of the leading players on the European Tour from the mid-1970s to the late 1990s. He won 21 titles and captained Europe to victory at the 2002 Ryder Cup.
