Course overview
South Course: The crown jewel of the resort and eight-time host of the Portuguese Open. Designed by William Mitchell, the course has been recently revitalised with a €7 million upgrade. It now boasts sustainable turf, reconstructed bunkers, and re-levelled tees while maintaining its reputation as one of Europe’s toughest yet most rewarding layouts. The South Course is ranked #3 in the Algarve region by Top 100 Golf Courses.
North Course: Redesigned in 2014 by Paul McGinley and Beau Welling, this course balances playability with challenge. It features wider fairways, carefully placed bunkers, and undulating greens that make it both forgiving and strategic, suiting a wide range of abilities.
Laranjal Course: Opened in 2009, this scenic par-72 course was built on a former orange grove. It’s characterised by rolling fairways, five beautiful lakes, and fast greens, offering a memorable and picturesque test of golf. Designed by Jorge Santana da Silva, this course is ranked #6 in Algarve by Top 100 Courses.

Quinta South Course
The Quinta do Lago South Course measures in longer than the North Course at a touch over 7000 yards from the back, giving the big hitters of the ball an advantage on the par-5s. The fairways are dotted with pine trees, requiring accurate drives to stay on track, and the addition of lakes, local flora and the beautiful backdrop of the Ria Formosa make this a truly spectacular round of golf.
Quinta North Course
The North Course is aimed at offering a great challenge and enjoyable experience for golfers of all standards. The sandy terrain is a joy to play on, and the mixture of woodland, umbrella pine trees, tricky strategically placed bunkers and water hazards keep players on their toes throughout the round. At 6700 yards, the Quinta do Lago North Course tests your ability to drive the ball, as well as your finesse around the greens, making this an ideal addition to any golf break.
Laranjal Course
The par-72 Laranjal Golf Course plays 7064 yards and is a fantastic track all year round, with exceptional greens kept in excellent condition. It has previously been voted the best golf course in Portugal, and it is not hard to see why. Originally an orange grove, the Quinta do Lago Laranjal Course offers 18-holes of championship golf in an outstanding setting. The golf course complements the North and South courses beautifully and the three can combine to make an inspirational golf break.
