The Laranjal Course at Quinta do Lago Golf Resort is a standout parkland layout designed by Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, and opened in 2009. Measuring approximately 7,086 yards (from the back tees), par-72, this championship track delivers a rewarding challenge. With five par-5s, eight par-4s, and five par-3s, the course blends variety with strategy. Laranjal is ranked #6 in the Algarve by Top 100 Golf Courses.

From tee to green, accuracy is essential - narrow fairways, water hazards, elevated or well-protected greens, fast putting surfaces, umbrella pines, orange trees and several lakes all come into play. The fairways are Bermuda, ensuring good playability year-round.

Signature Holes

Hole 2 (Par 3 / approx. 180 yards): The course’s signature hole is a striking par 3 played alongside a sizeable lake, with a sweeping beach-style bunker adding further danger. Club selection and accuracy are essential, as any shot drifting right risks finding the water or sand. Visually impressive and intimidating from the tee, it provides an early and memorable test for golfers of every level.

• Laranjal is routed through what was once an orange grove - its name comes from “laranja”, Portuguese for orange - giving its holes natural character from trees, groves, and landscaping.

• Of the three courses at Quinta do Lago, Laranjal is often considered more open than North and South; this means slightly more forgiving off the tee, though precision is still required on approaches and around greens.
