Ocotillo Golf Club
Ocotillo Golf Club overview
Situated in Chandler, Arizona (a short drive south of both Scottsdale and the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport), Ocotillo Golf Club is an escape from the desert surroundings that dominate much of the local area. The drive to the clubhouse is lined with palm trees and glimpses of the Ted Robinson courses and on arrival, you will be welcomed at the contemporary clubhouse.
The amenities are of the highest standard, from the fully-stocked pro-shop to the Ocotillo Grille, a great place to dine before and after golf. If the weather suits, head to the outdoor patio which is surrounded by waterfalls, running streams and flower-beds. The practice facilities are extensive and range balls are included to warm-up before teeing off.
Ocotillo course overview
Designed by legendary golf architect Ted Robinson, there are three loops of nine-holes at Ocotillo Golf Club (the Blue, White and Gold) that stretch across 180 acres of green, lush fairways. The courses meander between mature trees with water-hazards on 24 of the 27 holes and over 100 strategically placed bunkers, many of the ‘pot’ variety which must be avoided. The three nines can be combined in any order to create three different 18-hole courses. Golf at Ocotillo is a true alternative to the traditional desert golf found in Arizona.
The par-4 4th hole on the White Course is often considered the signature hole at Ocotillo. Short at only 340-yards, it will still get your attention, as both the tee-shot and approach are played across water to a green backdropped by a waterfall and colorful vegetation – a great example of Ocotillo’s standing as an oasis in the desert.
