Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort overview

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada | Style: Desert | Designer: Pete Dye | Founded: 1995 (approx)

Nestled just about 25 minutes northwest of the familiar glow of the Las Vegas Strip, the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort offers a dramatic and authentic desert-golf escape.

The resort features three distinct 18-hole championship courses - Snow Mountain, Sun Mountain and The Wolf - each sculpted by the renowned architect Pete Dye, making them his only pure designs in Nevada.

From wide rye-grass fairways framed by rugged mountain peaks, to bold bunkering and undulating terrain, each round here feels immersive and linked to the unique character of the Nevada desert. The resort blends world-class design, standout conditioning and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere - perfect for the travelling golfer seeking more than just a quick round.

Golf Courses

Snow Mountain

The original of the trio and a firm favourite, Snow Mountain features water on seven holes and wide rye-grass fairways. Designed by Pete Dye, it offers an enjoyable balance of challenge and playability. Ranked in Golf Digest’s Top 20 Nevada Golf Courses, it’s fully public and ideal for visiting golfers.

Sun Mountain

Sun Mountain delivers rolling terrain, sweeping fairways, and striking desert-mountain vistas. Often the staff pick for “most scenic,” this Pete Dye design combines natural beauty with an engaging layout. Like the others, it’s open to all players, adding to the resort’s reputation for accessibility. Read about our Las Vegas Golf itinerary here.

The Wolf

At 7,604 yards, The Wolf is the longest course in Nevada and the most challenging of the three. It features alternate landing areas and a dramatic island-green 15th hole. Also ranked in Golf Digest’s Top 20 Nevada Golf Courses, it offers a true championship experience for public play.

Clubhouse & amenities

The resort’s clubhouse spans approximately 50,000 square feet, featuring expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the desert and mountain vistas. Within, you’ll find a full-service restaurant and bar, the largest golf shop in Nevada, and event-ready facilities ideal for tournaments or corporate outings.

Practice facilities are robust: driving range, short-game areas, putting greens and rental club options (including high-end sets) are available to travellers seeking to warm up or sharpen their game.

Post-round

After your round, the clubhouse restaurant (known as “The View Restaurant”) offers dining with panoramic vistas, ideal for relaxing while recounting your round.

While the resort does not have a full hotel on-site, it is close enough to Las Vegas accommodations that many guests pair their golf day with stays on the Strip and enjoy dining, shows or nightlife post-round.

Nearby

Situated just outside of Las Vegas, the resort provides a welcome contrast to the city: take in the natural desert setting, mountain scenery or consider a short trip back into town for nightlife, shows or high-end dining. The proximity to the city means you can blend world-class golf with city-scale entertainment.

Golf courses at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort

Snow Mountain Course

Packages from $575

Snow Mountain was the first course designed at Paiute Golf Resort. Playing 7068 yards from the tournament tees and with five tee boxes, Snow Mountain is another great option when visiting Las Vegas. This magnificent par-72 desert-style course has inviting fairways and challenging greens. Pete Dye incorporated his signature railroad-tie bunkers into the design and water comes into play a surprising amount for a desert course. Snow Mountain is a scenic layout that provides a very memorable round.

Wolf Course

Packages from $575

The Wolf Course at Paiute Golf Resort is 25 minutes north of the Las Vegas Strip. This par-72 desert-style course is carved into the natural landscape, offering remarkable views of the desert wastelands and mountains. Playing over 7600 yards from the tips, with 5 tee boxes to choose from, the Wolf Course is built on the rolling desert terrain which makes finding these tight fairways extremely difficult. Fast and firm greens have plenty of run off areas, putting a premium on the short game.

Sun Mountain Course

Packages from $575

Sun Mountain at Paiute Golf Resort is a par-72 desert-links style course located 25 minutes north of the Las Vegas Strip. At just over 7100 yards from the back tees, Sun Mountain is considered the easiest of the courses onsite at Paiute. With wider fairways and forgiving greens, Sun Mountain is only protected by the unpredictable desert winds. The course makes excellent use of the natural landscape and each hole gives players a sense of isolation while enjoying their round.
