The Old Course at Salobre Golf Resort is the original 18-hole layout, gracefully carved into Gran Canaria's dramatic volcanic terrain. It offers a blend of desert-style vistas, lava outcrops, ravines, and rugged contours that challenge the player's imagination as much as their technique.

Though visually bold, the routing is thoughtful: wide fairways in places, but smaller, undulating greens demand precision. Over the years, the course has gained a reputation for being playable by a range of golfers, yet still able to host national championships.

In more recent years, Salobre has evolved the configuration of its courses: the Old and New courses are now combined in flexible ways to form three loops of nine holes, enhancing routing options.

Signature Holes

One of the standout features of the course is Hole 11, a long par 3 played downhill to an offset green protected by a large bunker on the front right. It demands an accurate tee shot to navigate elevation change and subtle slopes.

Also notable is Hole 8, a shorter par-3 with water hazard guarding the front, requiring a precise short iron or wedge.

The course hosted the Spanish PGA Championship in 2006, and Spanish Senior / Women’s championships in 2001.
