Salobre New Course

The New Course at Salobre Golf Resort is the 9-hole layout (formerly part of an 18-hole routing, now consolidated) that complements the older 18-hole Old Course. It is used, together with segments of the Old Course, to form three possible 9-hole loops, giving golfers variety and flexibility in routing.

The terrain is rugged and volcanic, with significant elevation changes, undulating fairways, rocky outcrops, and dramatic views. The design leans more toward a “wild / natural” aesthetic, drawing on the volcanic landscape rather than smoothing it out.

In recent years, the club has repositioned the configuration so that the New Course no longer operates independently as a full 18, but rather is integrated in the three-loop scheme.

Signature Holes

Because the New Course now operates as 9 holes (or segments thereof), there is not always a single “standalone signature” in the same way as a full 18. But certain holes are often highlighted:

The 5th hole on the New Course is frequently shown in photos and maps as dramatic, with strong elevation changes and challenging approach contours.

Post Round

Since the New Course is part of the Salobre Golf complex, it shares most amenities with the Old Course:

• Practice Facilities: Two-sided driving range, putting / chipping greens, bunkers, “Mile Practice” area adjacent to the first tee of the New Course
• Club Fitting & Performance Centre: The resort offers TrackMan, TPI, and a full golf academy / workshop facility.
• Buggy & Club Rentals, Pro Shop, GPS, etc. are available for the New Course as well.
• Routing & Flexibility: The New Course is integrated with the Old Course’s routing so players can combine holes from both courses in different loops.
