Amendoeira Golf Resort is situated in Silves, Algarve, hidden away amongst the Monchique Mountains, yet just a short drive away from Albufeira.

The resort offers a mix of modern apartments and villas, which are great for groups, and is on the doorstep of arguably two of the most prestigious golf courses in the Algarve, the Faldo Course and O’Connor Course. Golf Courses

There are two onsite 18-hole championship courses in the shape of The Faldo Course and O'Connor Jnr. Course.

The Faldo Course, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, is a championship 18-hole, par-72 course stretching over 6,578 metres. It challenges players with strategic play, desert-style bunkers, and native olive trees. The Faldo Course is ranked #13 in Portugal by Top 100 Golf Courses.

The O'Connor Jnr. Course, created by Christy O’Connor Jnr., is equally spectacular, winding through a valley with water hazards and natural vegetation.

For those looking to sharpen their skills or enjoy a quick round, the 9-hole Academy Course - Portugal’s only floodlit course - offers a unique experience. The resort also features a state-of-the-art Golf Academy equipped with TrackMan technology and professional coaching, suitable for players of all levels. The academy course is great for families, or great for groups looking to squeeze in some golf on their day of arrival.

Accommodation

Amendoeira Golf Resort offers modern two bedroom and two bathroom apartments which are each fitted with a fully equipped kitchen and large lounge.

For larger groups looking for a golf holiday in the Algarve, the resort also has three, four and five-bedroom villas, with options for a private pool as well. Each accommodation option includes air-con, satellite TV, a DVD player, a hairdryer, free Wi-Fi, a garage or carport, and outdoor furniture for those beautiful summer evenings.

Other facilities in the resort include two outdoor pools, a gym, football pitches and no less than six tennis courts.

Restaurant & Bars

The Amendoeira Resort villas are all self-catering, however, there are a number of meal options. A welcome food pack can be delivered upon arrival with a starter food pack and a special food pack.

Alternatively, the Clubhouse located in the centre of the resort has a large restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pre-golf and post-golf drinks can be enjoyed here whilst looking out over the two stunning golf courses. Additionally, the sports club also offers snacks and drinks.

Spa & Leisure

Beyond golf, Amendoeira offers a range of sports and leisure facilities. The on-site Sports Club features six tennis courts, two Padel courts, two five-a-side football pitches, a fully equipped fitness centre, and a scenic 1km jogging trail. There are also two outdoor swimming pools, including a children’s pool and a sunbathing terrace with loungers. During the summer months, the Kidz Club entertains children aged 4 to 12 with arts, crafts, and games.

Though the resort does not have its own spa, guests benefit from exclusive discounts at the VITAL Spa at Vila Vita Parc, just a short drive away. This nearby wellness centre offers a full range of spa treatments and therapies for ultimate relaxation.

Location

Conveniently located around 40 minutes from Faro Airport, the resort makes a perfect base for a golf holiday to Portugal. Most airports in the UK fly to Faro with a flight time of two and a half to three hours.

The resort is close to Albufeira and Portimão, and Vilamoura is located slightly further out.

There is no shortage of activities at Amendoeira, with boat trips, dolphin watching, fishing, surfing, scuba diving and water sports all on offer nearby. Hiking, cycling, flying, paintballing, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding are just some of the other activities available in the local area. There are three exhilarating water parks, two zoos and a range of restaurants and supermarkets just a short drive away.
