SilverRock Golf Resort
Palm Springs, USA
Golf Club Overview
Located in the La Quinta area of the Coachella Valley, conveniently positioned between the La Quinta Resort and PGA WEST, the Arnold Palmer Classic Course at SilverRock Resort burst onto the scene in 2005 and co-hosted the PGA TOUR’s Bob Hope Classic from 2008 to 2011. Set amongst the beautiful Santa Rosa Mountains and always in immaculate shape, SilverRock is a formidable test of golf at over 7200 yards from the tips.
As you would expect from such a highly regarded venue, there are excellent practice facilities along with the SilverRock Grill, where you can enjoy pre or post-round food and drinks on the patio looking out over pristine fairways and greens, and the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains.
Measuring in at 7,239-yards the course at SilverRock is considered to be one of Arnold Palmer’s finest works, and is characterized by towering mountainside vistas, immaculate fairways, fiery greens, and beautifully crafted water hazards. Owned by the City of La Quinta and sprawling over 200 acres, SilverRock co-hosted the PGA TOUR’s Bob Hope Classic from 2008 to 2011 and is every bit as good as the La Quinta and PGA WEST courses nearby. When it burst onto the scene in 2005 it was the only course in California to make the ‘Top 10 New Courses That You Can Play’ list by Golf Magazine.
The Classic Course at SilverRock is one of those rare layouts where every hole is incredibly picturesque and could quite easily be a signature hole in its own right. However, the 17th Hole is certainly one of the best at SilverRock, a 596-yard Par 5 from the championship tees, it plays long over a glistening water hazard where even the longest hitters may struggle. With the beautiful mountains running down the left side, a tricky approach shot to the well-guarded green, protected on all sides by bunkers will test your nerve.
