Why book a golf tour to Cork?

Tremendous golf can be found across all corners of the South West, with Cork being a good access point. Being Ireland's second largest city there are multiple direct flights from North America.

Old Head Golf Links is located less than an hour south of Cork and is undoubtedly the flagship course in the area. This stunning cliff top layout occupies a stunning headland reaching out over two miles into the Atlantic Ocean and is arguably the most spectacular course in Ireland. For something completely different, the five-star Fota Island Resort offers three pristine parkland courses and has been three-time host to the Irish Open.

The beauty of South West Ireland is that you don’t have to travel too far to find world-class courses. We’d highly recommend packaging a trip to Cork with some of the other renowned courses in the area, with Ballybunion, Waterville, Tralee and Dooks all within reasonable driving distance.

Ireland's second largest city

With direct flights from North America and being Ireland's second-largest city, Cork is a great base for a golf tour of the Emerald Isle's south region.

We have great accommodation options in Cork to suit all budgets and group types. The five-star Fota Island Resort, three-time host to the Irish Open, is just outside the city set in beautiful parkland and offers 3 pristine courses.

A fun and lively city with great pubs and restaurants, there is no shortage of things to do in the evenings. Kinsale is just a short drive away and regarded as the culinary capital of Ireland, making it the perfect stop after playing the majestic Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links. On those non-golfing days (if any!) we recommend visiting Blarney Castle and kissing the famous Blarney Stone or taking a day trip around the spectacular Ring of Kerry.

Our experts say...

Old Head Golf Links is simply spectacular and worth a trip to Cork alone. The city itself is great fun though, so we highly recommend a couple of nights there.
