The Royal Golf Course at Vale do Lobo is one of the most iconic golf courses in Portugal and a must-play for golfers visiting the Algarve. Set on stunning cliff-top terrain, this championship course offers rolling fairways, challenging water hazards, and breathtaking coastal views.
Designed by renowned American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, based on the original plans of Sir Henry Cotton, the Royal Course opened in 1997. The layout features tree-lined fairways, sparkling lakes framed by wildflowers, and a mix of challenging par-3s, strategic par-4s, and testing par-5s. Compared to its sister course, the Ocean Course, the Royal offers greater length and a tougher test of golf with more bunkers and water hazards to navigate.
