We booked this hotel to stay on the Sunday night after watching the Open at Carnoustie. Due to traffic we realised that we would be slightly late for our evening meal, so called to inform the hotel and was told that sorry but 9.30pm was the cutoff time. We arrived at 9.45pm checked in and asked about food we was told that we could order room service. After arriving at our room to find they were both double rooms, we had booked 2 x twin rooms for 4 blokes. We called reception to complain and was told that no twins were available but they would sort a camp bed for us! We called for room service at 9.55pm for what seemed a decent choice of meal, there was no answer until 10.03pm when we were informed that the good menu finished at 10pm and there was only pizza or sandwiches available. We ordered pepperoni pizza's and can honestly say it was the worst pizza I have ever had. It was barely warm and the pepperoni was cut about an inch thick! The rind/wrapping had also not been removed and this was almost impossible to chew through!!
One room was changed for a twin, but the other wasn't and no camp bed was delivered.
The hotel was OK as was breakfast, but the lack of/bad service the previous night was the worst I have encountered anywhere I have travelled in the world.
