Prince’s is known to golf aficionados as the stage for Gene Sarazen’s Open Championship win in 1932. This was also the tournament where he first made use of the sand wedge, an invention for which all golfers can be eternally grateful. The course has stood the test of time and still regularly hosts major events. Prince’s is a full-service resort with great accommodation, a refurbished clubhouse and 27 holes of links golf.
18 holes, 72 par, 7275 yards. Links.
Each of the three loops of nine offers challenges in their own right. The Dunes and Shore make up the championship 18, but the Himilayas is the member’s favourite with some of the club’s more forgiving holes, which makes a welcome change in comparison to a few of the other holes at Prince’s Golf Club. In particular, look out for the 1st hole on the Dunes golf course which is probably the most difficult on the course, with the south-westerly wind coming into play. Relax in the centrally located clubhouse which offers the ideal place to relax with a cool, refreshing beverage. Enjoy magnificent views over the golf course and the surroundings of Pegwell Bay as you enjoy a bite to eat in the restaurant which seats up to 200 diners.
Prince’s Golf Club is in a great location in Sandwich Bay, Kent.
