Dromoland Castle Golf Course overview

Dromoland Castle Golf Club underwent a major upgrade in 2003 at the hands of Ron Kirby and the late JB Carr to bring it to championship standard. The results were a success and now Dromoland Castle is ranked amongst Ireland’s top 50 courses and provides a challenging round of golf in superb surroundings.

The par-72 measures 6824-yards from the back tees and meanders its way spectacularly through mature woodland, past lakes, and over creeks; offering a fantastic alternative to the links courses that South West Ireland is most famous for. As well as the course, there are excellent practice facilities that can be used and a lovely 19th hole that hosts the Figtree Restaurant.

Signature Holes

The par-3 7th hole at Dromoland Castle is widely recognized as the signature hole. Golfers hit from an elevated tee box to a green that offers a backdrop of Lough Dromoland and the stunning castle. With a water hazard left of the green and a shamrock-shaped bunker to the right, visually this is one of the most impressive spots on the golf course.
