The Dunas Golf Course at Terras da Comporta is one of Portugal’s most exciting new golfing destinations. Opened in 2023, this 18-hole par-71 course stretches over 7,270 yards of natural, sandy terrain and is the country’s first true links-style course.

Designed by acclaimed architect David McLay-Kidd, whose work includes Bandon Dunes and the Castle Course at St Andrews, Dunas offers a masterful blend of strategic golf and striking coastal scenery. Set among dunes and pine forest on the Alentejo coast, it provides a championship-level challenge that remains accessible to all.

With six tee boxes per hole, the course is built for players of all abilities. Whether you're a low-handicap golfer or enjoying a casual round, Dunas rewards precision, imagination and a solid game plan.

Signature hole

While each hole is crafted to offer its own unique test, the par 5 18th makes for a memorable finish. Demanding strategy off the tee and precision on approach, this long final hole is both scenic and strategic. With views opening up across the wider estate as you head back towards the clubhouse, it provides a fitting and picturesque conclusion to your round.

Post round

Once off the course, Torre provides a welcoming space to unwind. The reception operates from 8am to 6pm, and guests can take advantage of facilities including buggy and club hire, a 6.5-hectare driving range, and a dedicated putting and chipping green measuring 1.58 hectares. The clubhouse atmosphere is laid-back and contemporary, making it ideal for post-round refreshments or reflection.

Golfers with higher handicaps are also welcome, with allowances up to 54 available upon request and at designated times, ensuring accessibility for all.
