Castle Stuart Golf Links

Castle Stuart Golf Links overview
Ranked 54th in the world by Top 100 Golf Courses and ninth in Scotland it is tough to deny the class of this place. Having played host to the Scottish Open on four occasions it boasts not just world class design but top facilities and practice areas.
One of the finest golf clubs in the Scottish Highlands, opened in 2009 and designed by Mark Parsinen and Gill Hanse, Cabot Highlands is well worthy of a visit if you’re going off the beaten track in Scotland in search of a great round of golf.
Guests are encouraged to make use of the superb facilities onsite which include a pro shop, bar/restaurant, practice area, putting green and modern locker rooms, which are all contained within a beautiful art deco clubhouse, which offers incredible panoramic views over the highlands and beyond.
Golf Course overview
Flowing seamlessly along the shoreline before rising to higher ground, providing stunning panoramas from nearly every tee.
The course balances forgiveness and challenge and on a calm day is very accessible to all levels, however when the winds get up it becomes significantly harder, particularly playing into a prevailing wind on the first few holes.
A noticeable design feature is that although the fairways appear wide off the tee, they have small landing zones and large run off areas. Similarly the greens feature difficult grass bunkers and run off zones making your short game very important to the way you will score.
Signature holes
Although less than 150-yards from the very back tees, the 11th at Castle Stuart is one of the top par-3s in the world. With stunning sea views, and often heavy winds, the hole is not as simple as it looks.
Post Round
After walking in the footsteps of champions and soaking in the spectacular views over the Moray Firth, there’s no better way to unwind than in Castle Stuart’s luxurious clubhouse.
For those staying on-site, the beautifully designed lodges offer the perfect mix of comfort and style, ideal for groups looking to extend their Highland golf adventure. Alternatively, the nearby city of Inverness provides plenty of dining, nightlife, and cultural experiences to round off your day in true Scottish fashion.
