Les Dunes Golf Course at Golf d'Hardelot
Northern France, France
Les Dunes Course overview
Location: Hardelot-Plage, Pas-de-Calais, Hauts-de-France, France | Style: Dune-Inspired Parkland | Length: ~6,617 yards (6,050 metres) | Par: 72 | Designer: Paul Rollin & Jean-Claude Cornillot | Opened: 1991
The Les Dunes Golf Course at Golf d’Hardelot offers a modern and contrasting complement to the classic woodland charm of Les Pins. Opened in 1991 and designed by Paul Rollin and Jean-Claude Cornillot, Les Dunes takes its inspiration from the surrounding coastal terrain of the Opal Coast, delivering a more expansive and visually open golfing experience.
Stretching just over 6,600 yards, the par-72 layout is characterised by rolling fairways, gentle elevation changes, and numerous water features that come into play throughout the round. While more forgiving off the tee than Les Pins, Les Dunes still demands strategic thinking, particularly on approach shots where lakes, bunkers, and well-defended greens test accuracy and decision-making. The course strikes an excellent balance between playability and challenge, making it a popular choice for a wide range of golfers.
Signature Holes
Hole 9 – Par 5 - One of the standout holes on the Les Dunes Course, this par 5 features water running alongside the fairway before guarding the approach to the green. Longer hitters may be tempted to attack in two, but the risk is significant, making this a classic risk-and-reward hole that perfectly reflects the strategic nature of the course.
Course Highlights
- Contrasting design – A more open, flowing layout compared to the woodland feel of Les Pins
- Water-featured holes – Lakes and streams influence strategy on several key holes
- Resort-friendly playability – Generous fairways and multiple tee options suit mixed-ability groups
- Natural Opal Coast setting – Dune-inspired shaping and wide views enhance the sense of space

Location

"A big renovation in 2010 has turned this course into a true rival of it's sister course - Les Pins. Tricky in places due to it's tree-lined nature and one of the best finishing holes in Pas de Calais."
