Europa Golf Course
at La Cala Golf Resort
Mijas, Spain
La Cala Europa Course overview
Location: Mijas, Costa del Sol, Spain | Style: Parkland | Length: 6,784 yards | Par: 71
The Europa Course is the newest and most forgiving of the three championship layouts at La Cala Golf Resort. Opened in 2005, it was the third course designed by Cabell B. Robinson at the resort and quickly became popular for its player-friendly design and beautiful setting.
Stretching 6,784 yards from the back tees, the Europa Course features wider fairways, larger greens, and gentler slopes, making it an ideal choice for mid to high handicappers. While slightly less demanding than the Asia and America Courses, it still presents a strong test with several holes running alongside the Ojén River and a mix of elevated tees and scenic carries.
Europa is perfect for a relaxed yet rewarding round, and it’s often the first choice for golfers looking to enjoy the views while playing a more forgiving track.
Clubhouse & amenities
Golfers playing at Europa can enjoy the full La Cala experience:
- Convenient access to the main clubhouse and resort facilities
- Pro shop offering the latest equipment and apparel
- Driving range, putting greens, and short game practice areas
- Dining options, including the Clubhouse Bar with views of Campo Asia
Signature Holes
The 4th could be considered the signature hole of the Europa Course, due to the excitement of having to cross the Ojén River twice! The back nine features memorable elevated tee shots with views across the countryside and coastline.
Did You Know?
Completed in 2005, the Europa Course was designed to balance out the technical difficulty of its sister layouts, providing a more accessible course without sacrificing quality or character. Despite being the most recent addition, it’s now one of the most popular courses at La Cala, especially for guests on longer golf holidays seeking variety across their rounds.

Location
"A true test of golf, which is based right in the middle of a valley. Undulating fairways and small greens make this quite the challenge."
