Le Château plays out like a tropical garden fairway - mature centenary trees, lakes, streams, and gentle foothills surround an elegant 19th-century chateau that lends the course its name and timeless charm.

The design by Peter Matkovich capitalises on natural topography, creating generous fairways, sizeable greens and a layout that remains playable for a wide range of golfers, yet retains enough strategic complexity for seasoned players.

Signature Holes

The 9th hole at Le Château has earned iconic status, thanks to one of the most remarkable moments in professional golf history.

During the 2015 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, Spain’s Javier Colomo stunned the golfing world by recording a hole-in-one on this par 4 — the first par-4 ace ever in the combined history of the Sunshine Tour, European Tour, and Asian Tour.

Post Round

Players at Le Château enjoy a refined clubhouse offering — including high-quality rental clubs, pro-shop facilities, a double-ended grass driving range, putting/chipping greens and short-game areas.

After a round, golfers can unwind with fine dining, reflecting the resort’s elegant, relaxed ambience.

Did You Know?

Heritage Golf Club has hosted multiple editions of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open (a tournament co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour), using Le Château for early editions and, from 2023 onwards, La Réserve Golf Links.
