Praia D’El Rey Golf Course is one of Portugal’s most established and celebrated championship layouts. On-site both Praia D'El Rey Resort and Marriott Praia D'El Rey, the course combines links-style seaside holes with tree-lined inland stretches, offering both variety and challenge in a spectacular coastal setting.

The front nine weaves through pine forest before the layout opens up towards the Atlantic, where dunes, wind and ocean views define the experience. The blend of parkland and links characteristics creates a balanced and engaging test that appeals to golfers of all abilities.

Generous fairways from the tee provide opportunity, but well-positioned bunkers and subtly contoured greens ensure accuracy and smart course management remain essential throughout the round.

Praia D’El Rey rewards strategic thinking. Tee shots must be shaped and positioned carefully to access the best angles into the greens, particularly on the coastal holes where wind becomes a significant factor.

Bunkering plays a prominent defensive role, with deep traps guarding landing areas and approaches. The greens are consistently well maintained and feature subtle breaks that place an emphasis on confident putting.

The routing makes excellent use of the natural landscape and its easy to see why it is one of Lisbon's best courses. With several elevated holes offering sweeping views across the Atlantic. The closing stretch along the coastline is particularly memorable, delivering both visual drama and competitive challenge.

The 12th has to be the pick of the bunch; your approach shot to the green is played with the Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop and once you arrive on the green the Belengas Islands become visible.
