Forest Pines Golf Course overview
Location: Lincolnshire | Style: Parkland | Designer (Opened): John Morgan (1996)
Set within 190 acres of Lincolnshire woodland, Forest Pines Golf Club offers a compelling blend of precision parkland golf and resort-style accessibility. The three loops of 9 holes - The Forest, Pines, and Beeches courses - weave among towering pines and beeches, with bunkers, water hazards, and undulating greens demanding thoughtful play.
Originally opened in 1996 and designed by John Morgan, the venue aimed to deliver a quality inland resort experience. The 'championship' combination - commonly the Forest + Pines loops - stretches to around 6,842 yards from the white tees, playing to a par 73 for many layout options.
Though sheltered by trees, the course remains firm and fast thanks to its sandy construction under-soil, which helps drainage even in poor weather.
Signature Holes
One of the standout holes is on the Pines loop: the long par-3 7th over water where the tee shot must carry a lake to a well-protected green, demanding both nerve and precision.
Post Round
After your round, you can unwind at the resort’s hotel bar or restaurant - enjoy views over the course with a drink on the terrace, relax in the spa, or simply soak up the woodland atmosphere.
Alongside this, the club offers a well-equipped pro shop and extensive practice area - driving range, putting and chipping greens.
Did You Know?
The architect John Morgan designed the course to be built on a sand base, which gives excellent drainage and firmer playing surfaces — a significant advantage in England’s wetter climate.
