Ashbury Oakwood Course overview
The Oakwood Golf Course is the shortest of Ashbury Golf Resort’s 18-hole layouts, measuring 5,502 yards with a par of 68. Despite its modest length, this is very much a strategic golfer’s course, demanding accuracy and smart shot selection from tee to green.
Featuring 10 well-placed ponds and numerous bunkers, Oakwood combines beautiful scenery with technical challenges, rewarding precision over power. It is often described as the “thinking golfer’s course,” making it a favourite for players who enjoy tactical play and careful course management.
Signature Holes
While Oakwood has several memorable holes, the 7th hole stands out as the course’s signature. A 429-yard par 4, it requires a tee shot played up the right side of the fairway, allowing the natural contours to feed the ball back to the centre.
The approach demands full concentration, with a pond guarding the left side of the green. The putting surface itself is narrow and undulates from right to left, often leaving golfers with a tricky downhill putt towards the water—a true test of nerve and skill that embodies the Oakwood experience.
