Golf courses at The Villas at Kiawah Island Golf Resort
The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island
Ranked No. 1 in South Carolina by Golf Digest and known as “America’s Toughest Course,” The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island stretches 7,873 yards along 2½ miles of Atlantic coastline. This iconic Pete Dye design features Pro V1 range balls, pristine playing surfaces, and stunning ocean views. Each fourball enjoys a dedicated forecaddie to assist with tee shots, green reads, and ball searches, making for an unforgettable championship experience.
Turtle Point Course
Opened in 1981 and totally renovated in 2016, Turtle Point’s design takes advantage of the island’s natural contours and dune ridges. Flowing through forests of hardwoods and palmetto along backwater lagoons, the subtle greens of Turtle Point demand a keen eye and a deft touch. Even though this course is one of the lesser-known courses on Kiawah Island it still plays 7061 yards of great golf and certainly puts Kiawah Island on the golfing map.
Osprey Point Course
Another ‘Top 75 Resort Course’ from Golf Digest, Osprey Point is a favourite of visitors to the island and plays 6932 yards of impressive golf. Set against a backdrop of pristine natural lagoons, saltwater marshes and maritime forests, the Tom Fazio design is a masterpiece of playability and variety. This spectacular course is another reason why Kiawah Island has been voted one of the best places to play in the US.
Oak Point Course
Oak Point Golf Course was originally part of the Kiawah River Estates before being bought by Kiawah Island Resort in 2001. This par-72 resort-style course measures just over 6700 yards from the tournament tees and offers 5 tee boxes. Despite plenty of water, it is considered the easiest of the Kiawah courses and is praised for its playability and stellar course conditions. Meandering through the salty marshes and natural landscape, Oak Point is a great round of golf.
Cougar Point Course
Proclaimed by many guests as their favourite course on the Island, Cougar Point is the resort’s Gary Player design and plays 6875 yards. The course features dovetail short and long par-4s, with some excellent risk vs reward par- 5s and some incredibly challenging par-3s. One of the more strategic courses on the island, Cougar Point requires a great deal of thought and accuracy rather than length. A 'must play' for a Kiawah Island golf holiday.
