Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort 5* Details

The Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort hotel information

The hotel is in a setting inspired by the Mauritian colonial architecture and style of the time. The sublime 5-star establishment, infused with the charm and style of the colonial sugar plantation past, opens out onto a magnificent tropical garden through which the Citronniers river flows. Escaping back through time, Heritage Le Telfair immerses its guests in a very special atmosphere, embodying the charm and romanticism of yesteryear.

The hotel, a member of the “Small Luxury Hotels of the World”, is exceptional in many ways: its butler service in suites is one indication of their conviction that top quality is synonymous with personalised service. Furthermore, the luxurious and spacious rooms decorated with fine white woodwork, all refer to the décor and interiors of Mauritius in the 19th century.

It has recently added the C Beach Club to its arsenal, an outstanding facility where you can enjoy a whole range of water activities as well as some wonderful al fresco dining.

Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort also has a wonderful selection of restaurants. The main restaurant, Annabella’s, is on the banks of the river with an open and interactive show-kitchen. The Gin’ja is a Pan Asian restaurant on the beach, the Château de Bel Ombre, an enchanting 19th century Manor house, the Seven Colours Energy Cuisine and the Infinity Blue, the main restaurant at the Heritage Awali next door.

    Spa information

Well-being is taken care of by the Seven Colours Spa ‘MiIllesime Collection’ a unique deluxe spa with 2000 square metres of lush tropical gardens. It has 9 treatment rooms, a vitality pool with hydro massage jets and a peacuf relaxation area.

Sport fans have access to a fully equipped fitness centre, an ATP tennis school, and a spectacular 18-hole Championship golf course overlooking the sea, as well as the many swimming pools on site.

    Things to see and do

Frederica Nature Reserve: 1,300 hectares of indigenous flaura and fauna, with exceptional views, rivers and waterfalls. Quad in specific areas, 4x4, mountain biking and trekking. Day, night and sun downers excursions available as well as kids discovery tours

Place du Moulin: former sugar factory at the heart of the domain, fully restored in the Creole style of this site, offers visitors small local shops and also a centre for events and "incentive" meetings

Trevessa: a stone memorial dedicated to the survivors of the Trevessa Shipwreck in 1923

Le Batelage: the Batelage site is what remains of the old port

Jacotet Bay: Jacotet Bay is the historical naval site that saw the first english offensive to take Mauritius from the French

The old mill: a relic of the past, the Frederica chimney appears majestically amongst the surrounding lush landscape reminding us of Domaine de Bel Ombre's rich history.

Our view of Heritage Le Telfair

The vast domain where Heritage Le Telfair is located is impressive! The views from the golf course are second to none, as is the maintenance of the course, and the hotel’s location could not be better. Another gem in the Mauritius portfolio, this resort is made for golfers looking to also relax by the sea.

Very good hotel although a bit isolated so if not all inclusive there is no alternative close by to go for a meal or drink.

On the whole a very good hotel with lovely staff who are only too willing to help.
The restaurants are pretty good with the exception of the steak restaurant at the golf course which is substandard to say the least. Of the restaurants Ginja’s is without a doubt the best and most reliable.. Breakfast is adequate rather than good. The sea facing suite that we had was excellent.
I think that the golf course is excellent. The beach is OK but entering the sea, which is very shallow for the first 30 yards out, is very painful on sensitive feet because of the sharp pieces of coral. We bought sea shoes
It was our first visit to Mauritius but if we were to revisit I think that would go to a similar hotel with the same facilities but only for the change in ambiance and the restaurants food.
