Black Course overview

The Black Course at Tiburon (Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort) opened in 2001 and is the slightly younger sibling to the Gold Course. Another excellent Greg Norman design that has a very distinctive look with its pine straw-lined fairways, waste areas and greens nestled amidst pine trees and native Florida foliage.

Although shorter than the Gold at just under 7000 yards off the tips, it is a more challenging course with a slope of 145. Routed through acres of pine trees, with many water hazards and waste area-flanked fairways, it’s important to hit ‘em straight.

Being a Troon Golf run property, it is always in immaculate condition, and the 27,000 sq ft clubhouse is also pretty impressive.

Signature Holes

The par-5 18th measures 533 yards off the tips and is a great finishing hole. It’s a dogleg right with a lake running down the entire right side. Accurate shot-making is key to avoid the coquina waste areas and greenside bunkers and may well result in a closing birdie!

Did You Know?

The word Tiburon means ‘shark’ in Spanish.
