We arrived at Los Cabos International Airport and collected our hire car for the week. We felt this gave us a little more freedom when travelling between the courses, resort and airport. However, if you are not comfortable driving abroad, we would recommend using a private transfer service instead.

After arriving at the resort, we checked in at Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos, one of three Pueblo Bonito resorts we offer in Cabo, alongside Pacifica and Rose. One of the biggest advantages of staying here is the easy access to many of Cabo’s top golf courses.

We spent the evening enjoying a drink at the resort before having dinner at the on-site Las Palomas restaurant. Excited for the golf ahead, we called it an early night ready for an early start the following morning.

We started our trip with a round at Quivira Golf Club, located just a 10-minute drive from Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos. The course is exclusively available to guests staying at Pueblo Bonito resorts, and we recommend arriving early to make the most of the facilities. In particular, the first comfort station is well worth a visit, offering ocean views and a great selection of pre-round snacks.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus and ranked among Mexico’s top courses by Golf Digest, Quivira is a memorable experience from start to finish. Dramatic elevation changes, cliffside holes and Pacific Ocean views make this a course that should be high on the list for any golfer visiting Cabo.

That evening, we returned to the resort for dinner at Cilantro Restaurant. Its beachfront setting provides the perfect backdrop for an evening meal, with a menu featuring fresh seafood alongside a range of international dishes.

After breakfast at the resort, it was a quick 15-minute drive to Cabo del Sol. Set along the Golden Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, the course combines desert terrain, mountain scenery and holes running alongside the Sea of Cortez.

We arrived early to warm up on the practice range before heading out for our round. The course was in excellent condition, with generous fairways framed by cacti and natural rock formations, quick greens and coastal breezes adding another challenge to club selection.

The front nine works its way through the desert and foothills, providing a demanding start to the round. The back nine is where the course really comes into its own, with several holes taking you closer to the Sea of Cortez and making the most of Cabo’s coastal setting.

One of the highlights comes towards the end of the round at the par-3 16th. Playing alongside the Sea of Cortez, with the wind often influencing club choice, it is a memorable finishing stretch and a hole that rewards both accuracy and careful course management.

After a day on the course, we headed into downtown Cabo San Lucas for an evening of good food and a lively atmosphere. As the sun set, the marina became a great place to explore, with waterfront restaurants, open-air bars and plenty of options for dinner.

We tried a few local favourites, ranging from casual taco spots and ceviche bars to restaurants serving freshly caught seafood and cocktails overlooking the marina. Whether you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine or somewhere a little more refined, Cabo San Lucas offers plenty of choice for an evening away from the golf course.

After two memorable days of golf, we took a day away from the course to enjoy more of what Cabo has to offer. We started with a relaxed breakfast overlooking the ocean before taking a walk along Medano Beach, one of the area’s most popular stretches of coastline.

Later that morning, we joined a boat trip to El Arco at Land’s End, one of Cabo’s best-known natural landmarks. Along the way, we passed sea lions resting on the rocks and enjoyed views across the clear waters surrounding the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula.

The afternoon was all about taking things at a slower pace. We spent some time relaxing by the pool before heading into downtown Cabo San Lucas to browse the local shops and stop at a few bars.

We finished the day with a sunset dinner cruise, watching the colours change across the Pacific as the sun went down. It was a great way to recharge before heading back out for more golf the following day.

We woke up feeling refreshed after a relaxing day at leisure, with another clear blue sky overhead. After a quick breakfast at the resort, we made our way to the second hotel of the trip, Grand Solmar at Land's End.

Located just a short drive from downtown Cabo San Lucas, Grand Solmar at Land's End is a great base for a Cabo golf trip. Set directly on the Pacific Ocean, the resort offers an impressive coastal setting with uninterrupted ocean views and easy access to the surrounding area.

There is plenty to enjoy on-site, including a full-service spa and a wide choice of restaurants and bars. The resort is also ideally located for golfers, with nearby access to the course we were due to experience later that afternoon.

Teeing off at Solmar Golf Links you can feel it is a course that perfectly captures Cabo's rugged beauty. Set where the desert meets the sea, every hole offers a photo opportunity and the dunes, crystal-blue water and natural elevation changes make every shot unforgettable. A Greg Norman design that does have hints of playing a UK links golf course with narrow undulating fairways and strategically placed bunkers.

We enjoyed an early glimpse of Solmar's oceanfront magic with the coastal par-4 3rd. A wide fairway with stunning views and a green perched near the dunes, it set the tone well for what was one of the most spectacular things i have ever seen on a golf course...

During peak season (December to April), it is not uncommon to see whales breaching and our luck was in when we saw one not far off-shore surfacing. A magnificent site and certainly not something you expect to see when you are teeing up!

Our final full day in Cabo began with an early morning tee time at Cabo Real Golf Club. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course combines an enjoyable challenge with dramatic desert scenery and views across the Sea of Cortez.

It did not take long to reach one of the standout holes. The par-3 3rd plays to a green around 75 yards below the tee, with the Sea of Cortez providing an impressive backdrop. Club selection is important here, with trouble waiting both short and long of the green.

The fairways were in excellent condition, the greens ran smoothly and the service throughout the round was first class. Friendly staff and well-stocked comfort stations with snacks and cold drinks added to the experience. Cabo Real rewards thoughtful course management while remaining enjoyable for a wide range of golfers, whether you are looking to post a good score or simply enjoy the setting.

Our final morning in Cabo was spent enjoying the relaxed setting at Grand Solmar at Land’s End. We had breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Pacific, watching the waves roll in as fishing boats headed out to sea.

Some of us took one last walk along the beach beneath the granite rock formations of Land’s End, while others chose to relax by the infinity pool and make the most of the ocean views before heading home.

After packing up, we made our way to Los Cabos International Airport and reflected on a brilliant week. The trip had combined memorable golf with plenty of time to relax and enjoy Cabo away from the course. From championship layouts and oceanfront resorts to boat trips, local restaurants and time by the beach, Cabo proved to be an excellent destination for a golf holiday.

Cabo is a fantastic golf holiday destination that can comfortably compete with some of the best-known golf regions in the world. All four courses we played offered something different, and beyond the impressive scenery, each was presented in excellent condition.

Quivira delivered dramatic cliffs, sweeping coastal views and one of the most premium golf experiences of the trip. Cabo del Sol combined desert golf with an impressive oceanfront finish, while Solmar Golf Links showcased the natural landscape of the Baja Peninsula. We rounded off the trip at Cabo Real, an enjoyable and varied course that provided a fitting end to the week.

Away from the golf, Cabo impressed just as much. Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos provided a convenient base with comfortable guest rooms, excellent facilities and easy access to many of the area's leading courses. Pairing this with the more peaceful setting of Grand Solmar at Land's End gave us the chance to experience two different sides of Cabo and made for a well-rounded golf trip.

• For travellers flying from the UK, direct flights to Cabo usually take around 11 to 12 hours. We recommend adding a few extra days to your trip where possible, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the destination and making the longer journey worthwhile.
• While an early tee time can help you avoid stronger afternoon winds, many golfers do not realise that green fees can vary depending on the time of day. Peak rates generally apply to morning tee times, with early twilight and twilight rates available later in the day. If you prefer a relaxed breakfast before playing in the late morning or early afternoon, choosing a later tee time can often reduce the cost of your round.
• April into May can also be a great time to visit Cabo. This period falls before the hottest summer temperatures arrive and can offer better value on both golf and accommodations.
