South Course
at Grand Hyatt La Manga Club & Resort
Murcia, Spain
Overview
Grand Hyatt La Manga Club & Resort and La Manga Las Lomas Village offer three on-site Championship golf courses that form part of the amazing La Manga Club complex. The North Course is the easiest of the three courses and is ideal for high to mid handicappers. The longer and water-filled South Course, and tighter woodland West Course, are a true test for confirmed players.
18-holes, par-73, 6998 yards. Parkland.
Originally designed by Robert Putman and modified by Arnold Palmer, the La Manga Club South Course underwent a complete refurbishment in 2004. The main changes include added water hazards, tree plantation, and green alterations, thus making the South Course more of a challenge to discerning golfers.
The course is located in the centre of the valley and features wide palm-fringed fairways, a number of strategically positioned bunkers, and plenty of cunning water hazards. The front nine is probably the tougher, with two par-3s measuring over 215 yards and some daunting par-4s, many of which demand accurate driving between lakes and bunkers.
