The Dunas Golf Course at Terras da Comporta is one of Portugal’s most exciting new golfing destinations. Opened in 2023, this 18-hole par-71 course stretches over 7,270 yards of natural, sandy terrain and is the country’s first true links-style course.

Designed by acclaimed architect David McLay-Kidd, whose work includes Bandon Dunes and the Castle Course at St Andrews, Dunas offers a masterful blend of strategic golf and striking coastal scenery. Set among dunes and pine forest on the Alentejo coast, it provides a championship-level challenge that remains accessible to all.

With six tee boxes per hole, the course is built for players of all abilities. Whether you're a low-handicap golfer or enjoying a casual round, Dunas rewards precision, imagination and a solid game plan.

Signature Hole

Every hole on the Dunas Course offers something unique, but the par-3 13th is a standout. Playing across a dramatic dune valley to a well-protected green, this short hole demands both accuracy and nerve. The coastal breeze often plays a part, making club choice essential and the challenge all the more memorable.

Post Round

After your round, the clubhouse at Dunas is the ideal place to relax. Open from 8am to 6pm, it features a welcoming reception and pro shop, as well as facilities including buggy and club hire, a 16-acre driving range, and a dedicated short game area for putting and chipping covering 1.5 hectares.

The course is inclusive and accessible, with handicap allowances up to 54 available on request at designated times, making it an excellent option for golfers of all experience levels.
