Jumeirah Fire Course overview

Location: Dubai | Length: ~7,480 yards | Par: 72 | Designer: Greg Norman | Founded: 2010

Nestled within the prestigious Jumeirah Golf Estates, the Fire Course boasts a distinctive design that blends the feel of classic links golf with the richness of a desert-parkland setting. Created by Greg Norman, the layout employs rhythmic undulations, expansive sandy areas, reed grasses, and strategic bunkering to evoke the great sand-belt courses of the UK.

From its opening in 2010, Fire has become a favourite for travelling golfers seeking both challenge and enjoyment. It is less merciless than its sister course but rewards strong positional play, smart strategy, and control off the tee.

Course highlights

  • A “links-style” layout with native grasses, long sandy waste zones, and exposure to wind, offering a more natural, strategic challenge than many modern desert courses.
  • Relatively small, well-protected greens demand precision with approach shots; tee-shot positioning is critical.
  • An excellent travel-friendly test: while still formidable, many review sources find Fire somewhat more approachable than its neighbour for strong-club golfers.

Signature Holes

The par-5 18th is a standout hole, rising gently toward the clubhouse and offering a classic risk-reward finish. Longer hitters can attack in two for a birdie opportunity, but stray drives are swiftly punished by the well-placed bunkers and natural contours that guard the fairway and green.

Clubhouse & amenities

As part of Jumeirah Golf Estates, the Fire Course is complemented by first-rate facilities: a well-equipped practice area, full pro-shop, clubhouse with dining and lounge spaces, and the wider estate’s resort-style amenities.

Did You Know?

The design incorporates long waste sand areas and native landscape elements, making it visually striking and architecturally distinct from typical desert-resort courses.
