Ranked 14th in Cheshire according to Top 100 Courses in 2026, Mottram Hall Golf Club is situated in the rolling countryside of Cheshire. The golf course is challenging enough to test your game while still suiting all levels of golfers. The fairways are densely lined with beautiful oak and beech trees, and the strategically placed bunkers create a fair test of accuracy. It's no wonder the course has previously been the venue for the PGA Europro Tour and 2013 PGA Seniors Championship.

As well as playing on a great golf course, golfers can use the driving range or short-game area or take the opportunity to have some tuition with an in-house PGA professional. Mottram Hall is an ideal venue for a golf trip.

Signature hole

Mottram Hall’s most memorable stretch comes on the back nine, where the course becomes tighter, more strategic and increasingly demanding. The woodland setting brings accuracy into play, with narrow landing areas, mature trees and well-protected greens all adding to the challenge.

The par-5 10th sets the tone for the back nine, while the par-3 11th quickly asks questions of club selection and control, measuring a daunting 220-yards from the back tees!

Post round

After your round, the clubhouse facilities offer plenty of ways to relax and reflect on your scorecard. Enjoy a drink or a bite to eat in the clubhouse bar, visit the halfway house, or make the most of the wider hotel and leisure facilities on site.

The Championship course at Mottram Hall was designed by distinguished golf course architect Dave Thomas, who previously designed the Brabazon course at The Belfry and the Championship course at Macdonald Cardrona Resort.

Our view

Mottram Hall Golf Course is a strong choice for a Cheshire golf trip, offering a proper championship test in a polished resort setting. The course has enough width and playability to suit mid-to-high handicappers, but the longer yardage, guarded greens and more demanding back nine ensure better players will still be tested.
