We have just returned from a hugely successful coaching break visiting the five-star Resort of El Rompido with 41 ladies, our most successful coaching break to date!

This venue has it all so here is a quick summary for any Pro's looking to visit the resort. El Rompido is situated just an hour from Faro Airport crossing the Spanish border (gaining an hour as you cross the time zone).

Precise Resort El Rompido

The five-star hotel is clean, modern & spacious. The superior rooms overlook the impressive pool area. The hotel allowed us to pre check-in the ladies so when they all arrived, they could simply grab their room key card, relax, and explore the hotel.

There are multiple bars and a large restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating. The food was good quality with plenty of choice. After a long day coaching & playing it's great to have the food options located on-site. We also had our own private table each evening which allowed the perfect social environment. The hotel provided evening entertainment with live music, adding to the experience for our clients.

Golf courses & coaching facilities

El Rompido has multiple coaching areas to deliver some quality short game and long game clinics. Over the course of two weeks, I was joined by fellow LLG & PGA Coaches Rory Haigh, Ben Stanier & Will Dunn. We all thoroughly enjoyed the coaching space to deliver our clinics prior to play each day. The putting green especially was in superb condition. We had unlimited range balls each day and we were the only coaches delivering on-site.

Precise Resort El Rompido

El Rompido has two courses: the North & the South. The South Course is flat and circles the clubhouse. The North Course is slightly hillier with superb views of the nearby areas. Most of our ladies walked the South Course and took buggies around the North Course. Both courses were in very good condition and suited to golfers of all abilities. Again, the greens were presented in superb condition.

Other facilities & nearby area

The hotel has a gym, spa and pool on-site which was accessed by the ladies in our group. In fact, one of the LLG members is a yoga instructor so started each day by taking a few ladies through some stretching exercises before we headed out for the golf. A 20-minute walk from the resort is the village of Rompido. There is a harbour, shops, restaurants & bars with plenty of cocktails & music!

The staff at El Rompido were very helpful & the director of the resort, Racquel, was fantastic in ensuring our group had a superb experience.

Feedback

The overall feedback from the ladies was fantastic with 82% saying they would return to the resort next year. The organisational support from the team at Golfbreaks combined with the superb facilities at El Rompido helped us deliver our most successful coaching trip to date.

There's no denying these trips take a lot of planning but they are hugely enjoyable and give you such a unique experience with your clients. Two days after we finished the second break, our next trip to Portugal in November sold out. We are now looking at expanding the numbers for this trip and getting dates organised for 2023.
