Forest of Arden Golf Resort overview

Location: Meriden, Warwickshire | Golf: The Arden Course & The Aylesford Course

Forest of Arden Country Club is one of the top-rated destinations for UK golf breaks, ideally situated within 10,000 acres of stunning ancient woodland in the Warwickshire countryside. Located just minutes from Birmingham and Coventry, this excellent golf resort in England offers the perfect combination of accessibility, four-star comfort, and world-class golf.

Home to two outstanding courses – including the championship Arden Course, a former host of the British Masters and English Open – Forest of Arden is ideal for couples, groups, and corporate golf events. Whether you're planning a relaxing weekend escape or a full-scale golf holiday in the UK, the resort delivers everything you need for a memorable stay.

Golf Courses

Forest of Arden Golf & Country Club is home to two impressive 18-hole parkland courses - the championship Arden Course and the shorter Aylesford Course - making it an excellent choice for golf breaks, society trips, corporate golf days, and mixed-ability groups.

Arden Course The resort’s headline layout, the Arden Course is a par-72 championship parkland course with a proud tournament history, having hosted prestigious professional events including the British Masters, English Open and Hero Open. Designed by Donald Steel, it offers a memorable test of golf with mature oak-lined fairways, strategic bunkering, water hazards and fast, true greens. The back nine is particularly scenic, playing through natural parkland where deer are often seen roaming the estate. Accuracy, course management and nerve are all required, especially on the closing stretch.

Aylesford Course The Aylesford Course is a par-69 layout that provides a more relaxed but still enjoyable challenge. Shorter than the Arden, it is ideal for higher handicappers, newer golfers, or those looking for a second round during a golf weekend in Warwickshire. With tree-lined holes, smaller greens and a strong emphasis on precision rather than power, it offers a fun and accessible round in beautiful parkland surroundings.

Additional golf facilities include a pro shop, putting greens, a short-game practice area, and a floodlit covered driving range with target greens - ideal for warming up before your round or fine-tuning your game during your stay.

Accommodation

Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club offers 214 comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms, making it a strong choice for stay and play golf breaks in the Midlands.

With a range of room types available, including classic, deluxe, superior and family-friendly options, the resort works well for couples, groups, families and corporate guests alike.

  • Zest Restaurant – For more casual dining, enjoy light bites and hearty snacks before or after your round, with al fresco seating and screens showing live sports.

Arden Golf Course

Breaks from £149
Par: 72Yards: 7180

Considered to be the flagship golf course for the hotel, this Donald Steel designed course has held the British Masters and English Open, on top of numerous European Tour Events. Measuring 7213 yards from the Championship tees, the par-72 course demands length as well as accuracy with the tree lined fairways. With the addition of water hazards and bunkers, there are plenty of challenges to test your golf game, regardless of your handicap.

Aylesford Course

Breaks from £294
Par: 69Yards: 5770

Measuring in at only 5801 yards, the Aylesford course may not have the reputation of the Arden Course, but it still makes for a tricky round of golf that will challenge even the more advanced golfers. The par-69 course uses its intricate design, including challenging water hazards and tough-to-read greens, to make accuracy an important trait to scoring low around at this Forest of Arden Golf Course.
