Restaurant & Bars
Overlooking the 3rd hole, the hotel’s main restaurant is a favourite spot among golfers. The evening menu features a great selection of local sourced dishes, and on Sundays, Thorpeness put on an excellent roast for lunch. Complete with a classic bar menu, the on-site clubhouse bar provides guests with everything they’ll need both after and before their round of golf.
In contrast to the two dining options, guests can also relax, chill out, and enjoy some food and beverages at The Terrace and Meare Gardens.
Thorpeness is within 15 minutes of the internationally-renowned Snape Maltings Concert Hall, and the RSPB's Minsmere Reserve. Just north up the coast is the genteel town of Southwold, home of the famous Adnams Brewery, and to the south is the picturesque Orford, where smokies and oysters are on the menu. A 20 minute drive south will take you to the fascinating Sutton Hoo.
Lastly, Thorpeness is only nine miles from Highlodge at Hinton - one of the premier clay shooting schools and facilities in the UK.

Thorpeness Golf Course
Laid out in 1922, the James Braid designed heathland course is ranked among the best courses in Suffolk. With a range of high-quality golf holes, there is no doubt that this layout does not lack quality. Despite measuring under 6,300 yards, this golf course is far from easy. With many deep fairway bunkers and thick rough not far from the fairway, accuracy and course management is necessary. Kept in magnificent condition year-round, this course is one of the best in the East of England.
