A great location for a city golf break

Italy is known for its delicious cuisine, stunning architecture, and its beautiful vineyards, with the city of Rome at its heart. It’s not just the pizza & pasta that keeps golfers returning here, but the unbeatable golf courses and fantastic accommodation. You’ll find the golfing experience of equal quality to the likes of Sardinia & Sicily, with the greens immaculate and well-maintained. Some of the best golf courses in Italy reside here.

A golf holiday in Rome means beautiful fairways, sightseeing, luxury and relaxation. There is plenty to be enjoyed off the course with a rich culture and a range of activities to soak up within the ideal climate. Rome is also easy to get to with regular flights to and from the UK.

What makes a golf holiday to Rome so special?

Rome is truly an excellent golf destination thanks to the scenic, well-maintained fairways. Previous host of the Italian Open, Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, is located just 30 minutes from the city centre. Stretching over 200 acres, the Championship course is challenging yet enjoyable, with exquisite views of the Marco Simone Castle and Saint Peters dome to enjoy. The golf club is the host of the 2023 Ryder Cup and has recently been redesigned with a new immaculate layout for the event.

Sheraton Golf Parco De’ Medici Hotel & Resort is home to three loops of 9, the Red Course the Blue Course and the White course which are nothing short of spectacular. Each has its fair share of history with the White Course having been developed on the private hunting grounds of Leo X and the Blue Course having an ancient Roman dwelling near the final fairways.

The Robert Trent Jones designed Golf Club Castelgandolfo is equally as impressive, with plenty of bunkers, mini lakes, artificial obstacles and other traps such as age-old olive and oak trees, to increase the game experience.
