The Pete Dye Stadium Course overview

The Pete Dye Stadium Course at PGA WEST is one of the best in Palm Springs and is a must-play for those searching for the ultimate golf challenge. Wide fairways offer some forgiveness off the tee, however long bunkers run alongside most fairways to catch a wayward drive. Water can be found on half of the holes on the course including the signature 17th, an island green par-3 nicknamed ‘Alcatraz”. Previously ranked as 4th in the toughest courses to play in the country by Golf Digest the Stadium is a real test, at 7300 yards off the back tees you have to be on your A-game to score well, however with six teeing options in total, every golfer can take on this course. This fantastic layout has hosted numerous PGA TOUR events over the years and continues to be part of the TOUR’s schedule. The Stadium Course is one of Pete Dye's best and definitely one to include in a visit to Palm Springs.

Signature Holes

The signature hole on the Pete Dye Stadium Course is the 17th. This island green par-3 is nicknamed ‘Alcatraz’ after the famous jail in San Francisco Bay. Large boulders surround the green giving it a similar appearance to its namesake which ricochet any tee shots that don’t find the putting surface.
