La Mer & Le Bocage
at Omaha Beach Golf Club
Normandy, France
Overview
There are four great loops of 9-holes at Golf d'Omaha Beach, a beautiful golf course built in 1985 by Guy Dupont. The most common combinations of the 36-holes available are L'Etang/Le Manoir and LaMer/Le Bocage. La Mer, which is the most scenic 9, a delight with its signature 6th hole overlooking the channel.
This is the more prominent of the two 18-hole golf courses. Made from the two loops of 9-holes, La Mer and Le Bocage, this superb golf course is varied, undulating and boasts stunning cliff-top views over the English Channel. The second loop of 9-holes is completely different to the first and is known for its different shades of green and fabulous rhododendrons. It offers a stiff finish with the 16th and 17th being very long par-4s and the 18th green being heavily defended by bunkers. This is a fantastic golf course not to be missed on your golf holiday.
Signature Holes
The signature 6th hole is located on the edge of a cliff where you can enjoy these beautiful views as well as looking over the charming fishing village of Port-en-Bessin. This is typical golf in France.
