Established in 1887, Kilmarnock Barassie is a 27-hole complex, with the 9 relatively new holes giving it a different dimension. The club prides itself not only on the quality of its golf courses but the quality of service and warm welcome it gives to all golfers that come to visit. There are also excellent practice facilities for golfers to hone their skills before or after the round on the excellent layout.
Golf Course at Kilmarnock, Barassie Golf Club
Located just two miles north of Troon, this links course is an Open Championship Qualifying venue with some of the best-maintained greens in Scotland. Established in 1887 it is now a 27 hole set-up with 9 relatively new holes as part of the championship course, giving it a different dimension. The course is tough, but is what Scottish links golf is about - large sloping greens, deep bunkers and doglegs. The club also hosted the British Amateur Championships in June 2001.
