Major pedigree with maximum enjoyment

Regularly listed as one of the world’s greatest courses, the stunning Pebble Beach Golf Resort is the jewel in the crown of golf on the West Coast. Opened for play in 1919 and originally designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, Pebble Beach Golf Links™ has hosted the US Open six times, as well as the PGA Championship once in 1977. Make sure to also take in some of Pebble Beach’s incredible sister courses such as Spyglass Hill® and the Links at Spanish Bay™ to make your trip truly memorable.

Further down the coast, the North and South Course at Torrey Pines continue to be a key part of the PGA TOUR’s roster, hosting the Farmers Insurance Open each January. Tiger Woods has previously made hay on Torrey Pines’ South Course, winning 8 PGA TOUR events (including the 2008 US Open) as well as the World Junior Championship! The layout is a true test of golf, particularly for those playing over the winter months when the rough is grown in preparation for the tournament.

For those looking for a more relaxing, resort-based break, be sure to check out Palm Springs. With luxurious hotels and unbeatable on-site facilities, the resorts in Palm Springs offer the perfect escape, particularly during the winter months. Don’t be fooled by the warmness of the welcome though, the courses in Palm Springs have a bit of bite too, with TPC Stadium Course and the Nicklaus Course at PGA West some of our favourites!

Why choose a golf holiday to California?

There are very few states in America that are better suited for a diverse array of great quality golf courses than California and whether you are playing in the Monterey Peninsula, San Diego or Palm Springs, there is much to enjoy about California golf courses.

Many of the courses are situated in areas that are cradled by beautiful mountains or oceans, with manicured grounds, colourful flowers, sparkling water features and native trees. And, thanks to the glorious sunshine and dry climate, it makes for excellent golfing conditions.

California also boasts spectacular beaches, fantastic National Parks, great bars and an excellent nightlife to be enjoyed when off the course.
