Saddlebrook courses overview

Par: 70Yards: 6480

Location: Wesley Chapel, Florida | Style: Resort / Parkland | Par: Varies by combination | Layout: Three interchangeable 9-hole courses (Oak, Pine & Cypress)

Saddlebrook Resort offers a unique and flexible golf experience through its three distinct 9-hole layouts: Oak, Pine, and Cypress. Rather than a traditional 18-hole course, golfers play one of several 18-hole combinations created by pairing two of the three nines together. This rotating format provides variety for returning visitors, with each combination offering a slightly different challenge and character.

The three nines

  • Oak Nine – The most traditional of the three layouts, featuring tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and a strong emphasis on accuracy from the tee. The mature oak trees create a classic parkland feel and reward golfers who can consistently position the ball.
  • Pine Nine – Characterised by gently rolling terrain and corridors framed by towering pines, this nine offers a balance of risk and reward. Water hazards come into play on several holes, encouraging thoughtful club selection and course management.
  • Cypress Nine – Arguably the most scenic of the three layouts, the Cypress Nine features some of the resort's most prominent water hazards and visually striking holes. Precision is key, particularly on approach shots, with water and undulating greens providing a stern but enjoyable challenge.

Course highlights

  • Three-course variety – Play a different 18-hole combination by pairing the Oak, Pine, and Cypress nines in various configurations.
  • Tree-lined fairways – Mature trees shape many of the holes, placing an emphasis on accuracy and positioning from the tee.
  • Water throughout the layout – Water hazards feature on 26 of the 27 holes, adding visual appeal and strategic challenge.
  • Resort-friendly design – Enjoyable for golfers of varying abilities while still providing enough challenge for experienced players.

Signature Holes

One of the most memorable holes across the Saddlebrook layouts is the demanding par-4 18th. Often serving as the finishing hole regardless of the combination played, it requires a precise approach shot over a large water hazard to reach a severely undulating green. A well-executed second shot is essential, and finishing with a par is an achievement most golfers will gladly accept.
