Discover Czech golf & more in this vibrant capital city
The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague has experienced a boom in tourism over recent years and is home to some of Europe’s finest architecture. Our favourite golf breaks in Prague base themselves in the heart of the city, before heading out to the three courses on the outskirts at Beroun Golf Club, Greensgate Golf Course and the European Tour host destination at the Albatross Golf Resort. The courses all weave themselves through the wonderful Czech countryside and you’ll be sure to find the warmest of welcomes at each layout.
Experience a perfect city golf break
A golf break to Prague lends itself perfectly to a short tour of the region’s three best courses. The most well known of these is the Albatross Resort, the home of the European Tour’s Czech Masters.
This championship course stretches out to be the longest in the Czech Republic, although with a variety of teeing options, it’s an enjoyable layout for all.
The course is set amongst the Český Kras Nature Reserve and provides a gorgeous backdrop to your round. What’s more, with the course situated just 30 minutes from downtown Prague, there’s plenty of time to explore the city following your round.
Slightly further our lies the layout at Greensgate Golf Course. This relaxing and tranquil setting is packed with quality, with water a prominent feature of the layout including the impressive Lake Ejpovice which can cause problems for golfers on their opening stretch. Greensgate Golf Course is located close to the city of Pilsen – known globally for the Pilsner Beer! Head into town following your round and experience one of the Czech Republic’s most famous exports!
Back towards Prague itself is the Beroun Golf Club. Opened in 2009, this exciting layout was designed by Canadian architect Les Furber and features dramatic changes in elevation which result in spellbinding views throughout the round. The clubhouse here is modern and well equipped with a lovely terrace overlooking the course. Be sure to build in some time following your round to enjoy a beverage or two in this splendid setting.
