Golf at the Hawthorn is an 18-hole championship course set in a spectacular coastal location beside The Hawthorn by Galway Bay. Designed by Christy O’Connor Jr., the course makes excellent use of its natural headland setting, with rolling fairways, strategic bunkering and memorable views across Galway Bay,The Burren and the Atlantic.

It offers a rewarding test for golfers of all levels, combining scenic holes, exposed coastal elements and a strong sense of place on Ireland’s west coast.

Signature Holes

The standout hole is the 10th, a superb par 4 that plays along the edge of Galway Bay and showcases the course at its most dramatic. With water and coastal views adding to the challenge, it is a hole that demands accuracy from the tee and a well-controlled approach.

Post round

After your round, golfers can relax at the clubhouse and enjoy food and drink while taking in views across the course and Galway Bay. The relaxed setting makes it ideal for a post-round pint, casual meal or catch-up with your group before heading back to the hotel.
