Marrakech is one of the most exciting, up and coming golfing destinations, with heavy investment in some excellent new courses in recent years. We are often asked by our customers, what are the best golf courses in Marrakech? So, we have selected the best courses that Marrakech has to offer, which are all a must-visit on your golf trip to Morocco.

Assoufid Golf Club

Designed by Niall Cameron and opened in 2014, complete with a luxurious clubhouse, delightful French restaurant and pro shop, Assoufid has the potential to be one of the best courses in Morocco. Built on the naturally undulating desert landscape, the 18-hole course has a stunning backdrop of the Atlas Mountains (the photo doesn’t lie)!

Samanah Golf Club

Similarly to Assoufid, Samanah Golf Club is set on a desert landscape with views of the Atlas Mountains. Opened in 2009 and designed by Jack Nicklaus, it was not long before this mammoth 7437-yard championship course won numerous awards for its excellence and quality layout. If you can avoid the nearby water on the right-hand side, the par-four 6th provides a great opportunity for birdie. Simply put, you must play this course on your golf trip.

Ourika Course, Golf Club Rotana

The Ourika Course at Golf Club Rotana is located to the south of Marrakech in a calm and relaxing environment surrounded by olive and palm trees. The desert-style design was conceived by Canadian duo Neil Haworth and Stephane Talbot and is a true golfer’s paradise, aided by the stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. This golf course truly is one of the gems of Morocco and is well worth playing when holidaying here.

Noria Golf Club

Yet another example of a top-quality recently opened golf club in Marrakech, Noria is becoming known as one of the best in the area. The signature par-three 8th is incredible and unique - the rectangular Biarritz green lies between a reflecting pool and a traditional Moroccan bell tower. This challenging course needs to be on your Morocco golf itinerary.

Royal Golf Marrakech

Built in 1927 and extended in 2008, Royal Golf Marrakech is an established 27-hole course situated at the feet of the Atlas Mountains. Follow in the footsteps of Winston Churchill, who played the original 18-hole Koutoubia Course – the first in Marrakech. Designed by French European Seniors Tour player Gerry Watine, the 9-hole Menara Course is wider than its counterpart and features the only lakes at the club. All the golfers we send here have great things to say, so why not try it for yourself!

The Montgomerie Marrakech Golf Club

The Montgomerie Marrakech Golf Club, suitably designed by Colin Montgomerie, is one of the finest setups in Morocco. The extravagant clubhouse consists of two gourmet burger bars, a rooftop lounge and restaurant and an ‘ice bar’ – the only of its kind in Africa. The desert-style course is wonderfully maintained and kept in prime condition, making for a great round for golfers of all abilities.

Palmeraie Course, Golf Club Rotana

Offering 27-holes of American-style golf, designed by Robert Trent Jones, the Palmeraie Course at Golf Club Rotana one of the most beautiful courses in Morocco. The unique panorama of the Atlas Mountains is simply breath-taking, but do not let it distract you from the golf, as there are 11 lakes in play throughout the 27-holes waiting to gather any wayward shot. This golf course is a truly unforgettable golfing experience in Marrakech.

Royal Palm Golf and Country Club

Royal Palm Golf and Country Club has to rank as one of Cabell B Robinson’s best designs. The spectacular 7,226-yard course will challenge both low and high handicappers, particularly on the par 5 9th with its left side gully. This course belongs to the 5-star Royal Palm Marrakech, one of the most prestigious resorts in the area – perfect for those looking for a grand golf break.
