A golf tour is the ideal way to experience multiple courses on the same trip. Staying in a central location, usually a bustling city or town, a tour allows your group to take in the area’s best courses, whilst still allowing you to base yourselves in the middle of the action.

Our sales experts can help you to build the perfect itinerary to suit your group’s needs, but why not get started by checking out some of our favourite and best golf tour destinations below.

Vilamoura

Vilamoura has long been the most-popular golf tour in our portfolio. A base around the busy harbour at one of the many excellent hotels allows you to take in the best of the Algarve’s nightlife with ease, with many of the most well-known courses in Portugal right on your doorstep. Due to the golf-centric nature of the region, many hotels have free shuttle buses to take you to the first tee, meaning there’s no need for a car – with several packages also including airport transfers within the price too!

Le Touquet

If you’re looking to travel around a little more on your golf break, there’s a huge advantage to having your own car. The best place to do this abroad is by far and away Le Touquet in Northern France. The region’s proximity to the south of England means that groups can be on-site at their destination in a matter of hours, leaving plenty of scope for squeezing in an extra round on your day of arrival or departure.

Le Touquet Golf Resort

There are 27-holes of excellent golf at the nearby resort of Westin La Quinta, although standalone options are in abundance too, with Real Club Valerrama and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande just a short car ride away. There are also great courses at Cabopino Golf Club, Marbella Golf & Country Club, Los Arqueros Golf & Country Club, and Santa Clara Golf – with our sales experts able to build the ideal trip to suit the needs of your group.

St Andrews

Whilst we believe that every tour on this list boasts some world-class golfing options, St Andrews likely tops the lot. A stay in the historic town is golfing paradise, with plenty of the Links Trusts’ courses within easy walking distance from your accommodation. Helpfully, the town’s many bars and restaurants are also grouped closely together too, meaning everything you can need from a break in the town can be found on foot.

You’ve simply got to experience The Old Course at least once in your golfing life, following in the footsteps of the greats. However, with The New, The Castle, and The Jubilee all excellent tests of golf, there’s plenty of other great golf to be enjoyed.

Old Course at St Andrews Links

Those with their own car may also want to venture out to the likes of Kinsbarns, Carnoustie, or Dumbarnie Golf Links, which are all easy to get to from a base at The Old Course Hotel, Hotel du Vin, Adgowan Hotel or The Rusacks.

Bigger groups may want to consider a stay at the Fairmont St Andrews. With two excellent courses on-site, and shuttle buses into the town, it’s a perfect mix of a resort break and golf tour!

Palma

Palma is perhaps one of the most underrated cities in Europe, with an incredible mix of history, modern gastronomy, and year-round warmth. As a result, Majorca’s capital has grown into one of our most popular up-and-coming golfing destinations.

Swansea

Last but by no means least is the seaside delight, Swansea. The city and surrounding area is home to some of Wales’ best courses, such as, Royal Porthcawl, Pennard, Ashburnham and Machynys Peninsula Golf & Country Club. However, it’s the mix of these stunning coastal layouts and the vibrant city centre that makes Swansea the ideal destination for a golf tour.

Our two most popular hotels here are the aptly-named Dragon Hotel, and the Mercure Swansea. Both allow for easy exploration of the city (and prevent a long walk back at the end of an evening!), whilst also being perfectly-located for exploring the golf. Head over in late Spring to see the courses as they begin to come into season, with few places as enjoyable for a UK golf getaway.
